MN Health Care Exchange

MN Health Care Exchange is part of the healthcare law that goes into effect on January 1, 2014.  In 2014 every Minnesotan will be required to carry health insurance.  The MN Health Care Insurance Exchange will be a marketplace for individuals and families to shop for their health insurance.  There will be many new health care plans available for people to compare and buy. The good news is that In MN, you will be allowed to use a broker to assist you in comparing plans and purchasing insurance with no cost to you for the assistance.  Many Minnesotans are expected to shop for their insurance through the MN Health Care Exchange.  At MN Health Insurance Network, we will be here to assist you every step of the way as you navigate the complex world of health insurance. Just as we have for the past 20+ years, we will help you and your family get the best health insurance plan at the best price.

Will you be forced to use the new MN Health insurance Exchange to buy your health insurance? No! No one will be forced to use the exchange to purchase health insurance and you can continue to use an insurance broker if you choose. However, for individuals and families with lower incomes (from 138 to 400% of the poverty level), the only way to take advantage of the sliding scale and receive lower rates will be to use the exchange. The sliding scale is set up in a way where the less income you make, the less you’ll pay for health insurance. Use our online tools to calculate your subsidy and shop and compare health care plans online.
